Why your website brings no enquiries: 5 signs and how to fix them

The site looks nice but the phone is silent? 5 signs your site turns clients away: slow loading, poor mobile view, unclear offer, invisible on Google.

A dark laptop screen with golden light spilling out of it

You paid for a website. It looks decent. And the phone is silent while the contact form has sat empty for months. We have reviewed dozens of small-business sites, from clinics to holiday apartments, and the same five problems show up almost everywhere. Here they are, ordered by how much they cost you.

Sign 1: It takes too long to load

Three seconds of waiting and the visitor gives up before they have seen anything. The usual culprits: photos of 8 MB each, cheap hosting, and sites stuffed with plugins.

The fix: compressed photos, modern hosting, and measurement. Type your site into Google PageSpeed Insights, it is free and shows you exactly where you stand.

Sign 2: It looks odd on a phone

More than 70% of visits to small businesses come from a phone. If the menu falls apart, the text is tiny and the button can't be tapped with a finger, the guest doesn't think "their site is bad". They think "they're not serious".

The fix: open your site on a phone, right now. Try to book or send an enquiry. If it takes you more than a minute, you have your answer.

Sign 3: It's not clear what you do

A visitor decides in five seconds. If the homepage says "Welcome to our website" instead of what you do, for whom, and what the visitor should do next, they have already gone to a competitor who is clearer.

The fix: the first sentence on the site must answer three questions: what you offer, to whom, and why you specifically. No phrases like "tradition and quality".

Sign 4: There is no clear next step

Book an appointment. Reserve a table. Call. Send an enquiry. One clear call to action, visible without scrolling. A site without it is a digital brochure: it informs, but it doesn't sell.

The fix: one primary button, the same message across the whole site. Not three different calls fighting for attention.

Sign 5: Google can't see you

The most expensive sign, because it is invisible. Someone right now is searching for "dentist Vračar" or "Zlatibor apartment with a pool". If you don't have SEO fundamentals and a tidy Google Business Profile, that search ends up with a competitor, every single day.

The fix: a Google Business Profile with photos and reviews, basic on-site SEO (titles, descriptions, speed), and pages that answer what people actually type.

What does this cost?

Here is a rough calculation for a clinic: an average patient is worth tens of thousands of dinars a year, and stays for years. If a bad site costs you one patient a week, that adds up to a yearly figure that dwarfs the price of any website many times over. We broke down what building a site in Serbia actually costs separately.

The good news: none of the five signs is unfixable. Everything above is solved by one well-built site, and that no longer takes months. Our deadline is 5 working days, guaranteed. If you are not sure which sign is costing you most, book a free website review.

FAQ

We do a free review: 15 minutes, we go through your site and tell you 3 concrete things that are costing you clients. No obligation, and the findings are yours either way.

If the site has 2 of the 5 signs, patching usually pays off. At 3 or more, a new site is cheaper than the repairs, and faster.

That is our job, not yours. Send what you have and we handle the rest.
